Dear Resident,

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe, we would like to share some important crime prevention advice to help protect your home from burglary.

There are a number of simple steps you can take to improve your home security:

Upgrade patio and rear doors by installing anti-snap locks and secure handles

Strengthen glass by using security film or installing laminated/limited glass

Fit additional locks or internal grilles to windows where appropriate

Use alarms, including window vibration sensors and a full home alarm system, to deter intruders

Install motion sensor lighting and timer-controlled lamps to increase visibility and remove hiding places

Keep gardens maintained by trimming bushes and trees, and ensure gates are securely locked

Layering your security by combining these measures can significantly reduce the risk of your home being targeted.

While officers are out on patrol dealing with local priorities, including school parking concerns, we are also encouraging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
